CHANGELOG

What’s new

Here are the latest updates as the storefront and services continue to improve. The public /view/* and /api/* URLs are still supported.

2026-10-03

Bot commands and moderation

  • Added a searchable public command list by channel. Viewers can filter commands by name, description, alias, or access conditions and enter their Twitch username to see commands available to them.
  • Added an action to run another command's actions as part of a flow, plus a separate Pin message action with preset, custom, or until-unpinned durations.
  • Commands and moderation filters can allow or exclude Twitch roles, named users, and viewer groups. Moderation filters also detect more obfuscated spam and spaced-out domains.
  • Improved bot self-message echo handling so delayed copies of its own replies are less likely to be processed as chat input.

2026-10-02

Chat message removals

  • Chat overlays now remove messages when Twitch or YouTube deletes them. Twitch timeout and ban events also remove that user's messages currently shown in the overlay.

2026-09

Sound effects

  • Added a compact Dashboard → Sound effects page with separate Your sounds and Built-in catalog tabs.
  • Preview bundled sounds or upload MP3, WAV, and OGG files, then configure volume and cooldown.
  • Map sounds to Twitch channel-point rewards, trigger them with the bot Play sound effect action, or call /api/sound-effects/{id}/play.
  • Create rewards from the sound effects page, see which sounds are mapped, enable or disable mapped rewards, and delete rewards from Twitch.
  • Enable Play sound effects on the overlay that should receive playback events.

2026-09

Smart commands catalog, PC part picker, schedule & custom copies

  • Expanded the natural language smart intent catalog: ask_uptime (live Twitch uptime), ask_schedule, ask_specs, ask_deaths, ask_score, ask_socials, viewer_lurk, viewer_unlurk, ask_wishlist, and mark_highlight. Smart matching includes stopword filtering and content anchor matching to eliminate false positives from conversational chatter.
  • Organized bot setup into 5 collapsible accordion sections (General, Internal game, Schedule, PC specs, Socials) with debounced background autosaving and snapshot Reset buttons.
  • Integrated a 300+ item PC hardware and streaming gear catalog (GPUs, CPUs, RAM, Motherboards, Storage, PSUs, Cases, Mics, Cameras, Monitors, Mice, Keyboards, Headsets) with a modal search part picker and quick-pick presets. The backend compiles highlights for {specs}.
  • Added a weekly stream schedule editor with HTML5 time pickers, timezone dropdown, and date overrides, formatted automatically into natural language for {schedule}.
  • Added structured socials editor (Discord, Twitter/X, Bluesky, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Threads, Steam, Website) formatted into readable links for {socials}.
  • Organized Commands and Moderation into Custom and Default sub-tabs (Custom shown first). Default items are protected presets; click Create custom copy to disable the default item and open an enabled editable copy.
  • Upgraded WHEN conditions and THEN actions to use clean, categorized dropdown menus (Chat interaction, Stream & broadcast, Counters & widgets, Integrations, Moderation) with instant search filtering.
  • Added dedicated random message lists for lurk replies and unlurk replies (featuring iconic video game respawn references and AFK quotes).
  • Added new placeholders: {uptime}, {schedule}, {specs}, {socials}, {deaths}, {wins}, {losses}, and {ties}.

2026-09

Channel bot

  • Dashboard → Bot lets you add a Twitch chat bot using your own account or a bot account you create (connect the current login, or copy a URL for another browser).
  • Build commands as a WHEN → THEN flow: command, smart (intent examples), user, or schedule triggers, plus send message, random message (greetings, chat replies, or clip game-quotes), change game / title / tags, run ad, create marker, HTTP, death/win-loss/timer counters, and create-clip actions.
  • A separate Moderation tab has its own WHEN → THEN filters (view-bot ads, banned phrases, links, caps, symbols, emotes, length, repeats, and an optional !permit command) with delete, timeout, ban, warn, and permit-link actions. Starter filters ship with the bot and exempt VIPs. View-bot ads catch the “become famous / buy followers” paste even when letters are swapped for lookalikes or special characters. Filters run before commands and never apply to mods or the broadcaster.
  • Groups are named viewer lists (Regulars and as many others as you need, with no member cap). Add each Twitch login one at a time. Command Who can pick Specific groups and tick which lists may use the command. Filters get an Exclude checkbox instead. Deleting a group later does not break saved commands.
  • The Viewers tab lists everyone the bot has seen in chat (time in chat and last seen). Click a person to see their groups and add them to a list. Typing a login on Groups suggests known viewers; a custom login still works and starts at 0m / never seen.
  • The Log tab can store chat lines the bot sees. It is off by default, can ignore groups, keeps history when turned off, and has a Delete history button.
  • A built-in “What game is this?” intent and a “Clip that” smart action ship with example lines; Clip that posts a random video-game quote with the clip link. You can add your own lists. Use Try a chat line in the editor.
  • Command triggers can require extra text, forbid it, or allow either, so !game and !game Hades can be different commands. A starter Set game command lets moderators change the live category from chat; Change game can look up that extra text on Twitch. Use {args} in a reply for the typed name.
  • Starter chat commands also include !commands (links to the searchable public command list), !title / !tags (print with no extra text; moderators set them with args), !commercial (run an ad, optional length), and !marker (create a stream marker). Change title, change tags, run ad, and create marker are editor actions. Ads need channel:edit:commercial — reconnect the bot or this channel if that permission is missing.
  • Analytics show 30-day totals and a graph for messages, exact commands, and smart commands. Chat text is not stored in those counts.
  • Command editor: dark inputs, two cards per row, click/drag placeholders, and Twitch category suggestions for change-game. If you pick Games + Demos, a second field sets the internal game used in chat. Changes save as you edit; Reset restores the command from when you opened the editor.
  • Change game now sets the live Twitch category. One Twitch login is enough when the bot is this channel; if a different account sits in chat, connect this channel as a second login on Setup. Clips OAuth is not used for category changes.
  • The bot now joins chat after Twitch IRC login succeeds and shows connection status on setup.
  • Each streamer connects their own Twitch account (or a bot account via a copyable URL, like clips) and the server renews that chat token.
  • Setup is in the channel bot guide.

2026-09

Channel point effects follow the viewer

  • Channel point chat effects are tracked even when chat is not on the current OBS scene (for example a “stream starting” view).
  • If you switch to a chat overlay — including a different chat overlay on another scene — before the time runs out, that viewer’s effects continue until they expire.

2026-09

Game wishlists

  • Create multiple game lists in Dashboard → Wishlist, with covers, tags, descriptions, public or private notes, and per-list statuses (Want / Playing / Finished / Dropped by default; add, rename, or remove them).
  • Search Steam for PC titles, itch.io for itch games, and IGDB for PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch, or add a game manually if search misses it.
  • Import a public Steam wishlist or a pasted list of titles. Imports only add missing games. Pasted titles prefer an exact catalog match over a newer sequel. Large Steam imports keep running in the background, go as fast as Steam allows, and pause when Steam rate-limits.
  • Type a list number to jump a game to that position; arrows still move one step.
  • Filter lists by tag or status. Search, tag, and status filters keep original list numbers. Removing a status that still has games asks where to move them.
  • Share a /lists/… link so viewers can browse public notes and suggest games. Pending suggestions show as a badge on the dashboard.
  • Install the Shiny Wishlist Twitch panel to show selected public lists on your channel (a few games per status; tap a cover for that game’s public details, swipe images and trailers in the panel, plus a link to the full list). Viewers can suggest a game from the panel when the list allows it. If the channel has no site account yet, the extension settings page offers Sign up with Twitch. Setup is in the wishlist guide.
  • List name, description, visibility, and suggestion settings save as you edit them.

2026-09

Chat overlay autosave

  • Dashboard → Chat overlay settings, enabled effects, custom effects, and ignored usernames now save as you change them. There is no Save button on that page.

2026-09

Combined overlay

  • Added a combined overlay canvas so death counters, win/loss displays, timers, and chat can share one OBS Browser source.
  • The editor lives at Dashboard → Overlay → Open editor. Changes save automatically; Revert restores the layout from when you opened the editor.
  • Canvas presets cover 720p, 1080p, 1440p, 4K, and ultrawide sizes (or type a custom size). Positions are percentages, so switching size does not scramble widgets.
  • Optional: upload an OBS screenshot in the editor as a faded alignment guide. It stays in the editor only.
  • Each layout has a Display URL at /view/overlay/{id}, plus a stable /view/overlay/current link.
  • The OBS dock Add to scene uses that layout’s canvas size (counters, timers, and standalone chat still use the dock source width/height). Setup is in the combined overlay guide.

2026-09

OBS dock

  • Added an OBS Custom Browser Dock at /obs so you can sign in with your account key and manage overlays from OBS.
  • One-click Add to scene creates a Browser source via OBS WebSocket (Copy URL still works if WebSocket is off).
  • Create, rename, edit values, set current, or delete counters, timers, and chat overlays from the dock.
  • Death, win/loss, and timer rows now include the same increment, reset, start, pause, and set-seconds buttons as the public API commands, plus a Create clip button.

2026-09

Chat ignored usernames & Twitch GIFs

  • Added a global ignored-username list for chat overlays so bot or spam accounts stay off every view.
  • Each ignored username can apply to Twitch, YouTube, or both (default).
  • Twitch chat GIFs (from the IRC gifs tag) now render in chat overlays, with a per-overlay toggle. When GIFs are off, GIF messages are hidden entirely.
  • BetterTTV global and channel emotes render in chat overlays and follow the Emotes toggle.
  • Create custom chat effects with your own colors, background styles, sprite presets, or uploaded images.

2026-08

Chat overlays, Google login & account linking

  • Added chat overlays for OBS: Twitch chat via IRC, optional YouTube live chat, badges, emotes, and Super Chats.
  • Per-overlay source toggles (Twitch / YouTube), display styles (classic, stacked, bubbles, bubble-stack), and styling (colors, font size, transparent background).
  • Built-in chat message effects (fire, lightning, ice, rainbow, hearts, sparkle, poison, gold, glitch, confetti), plus streamer control from an Interactive URL.
  • Optional Twitch channel point redemptions that grant a viewer random chat effects for a set number of minutes.
  • Sign in with Twitch and/or Google; link both providers on one account and merge existing data when needed.
  • Separate YouTube chat OAuth (with refresh) from Google login scopes.
  • Added Privacy and Terms pages for OAuth consent / verification.

2026-08

Mobile controllers & timers

  • Added stopwatch and countdown timers with Display URLs for OBS / StreamLabs.
  • Control start, pause, reset, set, add, and remove from Nightbot or Direct URLs (seconds).
  • Added mobile controllers: custom phone button grids that call the same APIs (with cascade cleanup when a linked counter is deleted).

2026

Vue storefront & Spring Boot 4.1

  • Replaced the old JSP pages with a Vue storefront for home, setup, about, and the dashboard.
  • Restored setup screenshots, marketing copy, and clearer instruction text for counters and clips.
  • Upgraded the API to Spring Boot 4.1 (Java 17+, Tomcat 11 for WAR deployments).
  • Kept existing browser-source and bot/API URLs stable so OBS scenes and Nightbot commands keep working.

EARLIER

Core streaming tools

  • Death counters with named and current URLs, custom chat responses, and OBS display formatting.
  • Win/loss/tie displays with per-outcome controls and reset-all.
  • Twitch clip creation via Nightbot, Direct URL, or a separately authorized clip account.
