SETUP

Easy setup guide

Setup is just connecting your Shiny Streaming Services Display URL to OBS or StreamLabs as a browser source. You can then control the display with Nightbot, another bot that supports URLs, or a Stream Deck.

STEP 1

Add a browser source in OBS

Inside OBS, add a new source and choose Browser.

The setup works the same way in both OBS and StreamLabs. Just use the one you already stream with.

STEP 2

Paste your display URL

Open the dashboard, pick a counter, and copy its Display URL (/view/…). Paste that into the browser source settings.

Depending on the styling you chose, you may need to adjust the source width and height so the layout fits cleanly.

Try not to resize the source by dragging it in OBS after you set it up. That can stretch the text and make it look blurry. Instead, set the width and height you want in the browser source properties.

Adding, removing, or resetting values

Every counter action is just a simple browser or API call. This makes it easy to connect bots and other tools.

For Nightbot, just copy the ready-made commands from the dashboard and paste them into Nightbot’s command list.

If you use a Stream Deck, an add-on like API Ninja can call the same URLs if you prefer using hardware buttons instead of chat commands.

Help - I’m using a different bot. Will it work?

The short answer is that it depends on your bot.

Many bots can fetch a URL (sometimes called URL fetch, HTTP request, or website call). If your bot supports this, these streaming services will work just like they do with Nightbot. Paste the Direct URL from the dashboard into that feature.

Your existing /view/* and /api/* links remain supported when you change scenes or upgrade the site.

Faster path: OBS dock

Instead of copying Display URLs by hand, add a Custom Browser Dock in OBS pointing at /obs. Sign in with your account key, connect OBS WebSocket, and click Add to scene. From the same panel you can increment counters, start or pause timers, and create a clip. Full steps are in the OBS dock guide.

QUICK CHECKLIST

From zero to live on stream

  1. Sign in with Twitch or Google and open the dashboard.
  2. Create a death counter, win/loss display, timer, sound effect, or connect Twitch clips.
  3. Copy the /view/… URL into an OBS / StreamLabs browser source (set width/height there), or add the OBS dock and click Add to scene. A combined overlay can hold several widgets in one source; match the Browser source to that layout’s canvas size (the dock does this automatically).
  4. Copy Nightbot commands or Direct URLs from the dashboard into your bot or Stream Deck.
  5. Test once offline, then go live.
