GUIDE
Game wishlists
Wishlists let you keep organized lists of games you want to play, are playing, or finished. Create as many lists as you like in the dashboard, search Steam and console catalogs when you add a title, keep private or public notes, and share a link so viewers can browse the list and suggest games.
Create a list
- Sign in and open Dashboard → Wishlist.
- Click New, name the list, and optionally write a short description. Name, visibility, and suggestion settings save as you change them.
- Open the list to add games, import, or copy a share link.
Add games
Pick a platform first: Steam, itch.io, PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch. Search uses Steam’s store for PC Steam titles, itch.io for itch games, and IGDB (via your Twitch app credentials) for consoles. If the game is missing, add it manually with a title, optional cover URL, store link, tags, and notes.
Reorder games
Each game has a list number. Use the arrows to move one step, or type a number and press Enter (or click away) to jump — useful when a list has hundreds of titles. Search, tag, and status filters keep the original numbers; moving a game still uses the full list order.
Tags, notes, statuses, and search
- Store tags are mapped onto shared names (for example Steam “Horror” and itch “horror game” both show as Horror).
- Each game can have public or private notes. Private notes stay empty on the shared page.
- Each list starts with Want, Playing, Finished, and Dropped. You can rename these, add your own, or remove ones you do not use. New games start as the first status. If you remove a status that still has games, pick another status to move them to. Statuses are per list.
- Filter a list by tag or status, and search by title, description, tags, or notes. Close spellings still match.
Import
Imports only add missing games. Titles already on the list are skipped, and games that were not in the import stay where they are.
- Steam wishlist — paste a public profile URL or SteamID64. The Steam wishlist must be public. Large lists start immediately in the background and run as fast as Steam allows. If Steam rate-limits, the import pauses and then continues more slowly. You can close the import window and keep editing.
- Paste a list — choose a platform, then one title or store URL per line. Titles pick the closest catalog name (so “Hades” does not become “Hades 2”); a store URL is always exact. You get a summary of imported, already-present, and not-found games.
Sharing and suggestions
Set visibility to “Anyone with the link” to copy a /lists/… URL. Viewers see covers, tags, descriptions, and public notes. They can suggest a game with a short message. If they are signed in, their name is filled in automatically. Pending suggestions show as a badge on Dashboard → Wishlist; accept to add the game, or decline to dismiss it.
Shared list URLs are for people you send them to. They are not added to the sitemap, and private notes never leave your account.
Twitch channel panel
The Shiny Wishlist Twitch panel extension shows selected public lists on your channel page. Viewers see the first few games in each status, can tap a cover for that game’s public details, swipe or use arrows through covers, screenshots, and trailers, and can open the full /lists/… page. Popping the panel out of the channel uses the extra width: covers wrap into a grid instead of a side-scroll strip. When the list allows suggestions, they can also tap Suggest a game in the panel to search Steam, itch.io, or consoles (or add a title by hand) and send it with a short message. If they are logged into Twitch, the panel fills their Twitch username (Twitch may ask them to share their identity with the extension). A site login on Local Test also fills the name. Private lists and private notes never appear.
- Sign in on this site with the same Twitch account as the channel, and set each list you want to show to Anyone with the link. If the extension settings page says this account is not on the site yet, use Sign up with Twitch (it opens this site), then reload that page.
- In the Twitch Extensions console, set Panel Viewer Path to
twitch-panels/shiny-wishlist/panel.htmland Config Path totwitch-panels/shiny-wishlist/config.html. - For Local Test, set Testing Base URI to this site (trailing slash), for example
https://services.shinyarmor.net/or your local test host. - To preview in a normal browser (not the Twitch iframe), open
/twitch-panels/shiny-wishlist/panel.html?channelId=your_twitch_login. Use your Twitch login or numeric user id. Opening the HTML without that query waits for Twitch and will stay on Loading. A 320px-wide window matches the live channel panel; a wider window (or Twitch’s panel pop-out) uses the wrapping grid layout. - Install the extension on your channel, open its settings, pick one or more public lists, and activate it as a panel.
- For Hosted Test, zip the
twitch-panelsfolder so the archive containstwitch-panels/shiny-wishlist/panel.html(not a wrapping extra folder). Allowhttps://services.shinyarmor.netfor fetch and links, Steam/IGDB/itch image hosts, Steam video hosts, andhttps://www.youtube-nocookie.comfor trailer embeds.
The panel files at /twitch-panels/… are a tool iframe (not indexed). This guide is the public documentation.
